Ta Phin Village

Ta Phin village is famous as an attractive ecotourism of Lao Cai province and shoul not be missed when traveling to Sapa. Ta Phin village is home to  H'Mong and Red Dao minorities and they still retains traditional customs and lifestyles of ethnic minority groups. Ta Phin village is also a beautiful valley which is surrounded by mountains and owns spectacular rice terraces.  

Ta Phin village is a small village located 15 km from Sapa town in Northern VietNam; about 1500 m above sea level in a remote valley covered by rice paddies and corn fields. Ta Phin village is home to approximately 1000 Red Dao and 1500 Black Hmong. The village has 13 hamlets and 20 or more many small communes scattered throughout these hamlets. 

 


Therefore, travelling Ta Phin village, tourists can explore customs, traditions, and culture of the Red Dao ethnic community and other ethnic minorities, which will be staged  repertoires for tourists like wedding ceremonies and some types of traditional dances. In addition, tourists can also participate in many exciting folk games in traditional festivals including walking on stilts, shooting crossbows and enjoy traditional cuisines including bacon, bread made from baby corns.

Moreover, the higher land is a maze of narrow terraced rice paddies along with corn and vegetable fields. Beneath on the valley floor are their spectacular rice fields which supply their community with much of its resources through the exasperating lifestyle that is secluded mountain living.

 

Ta Phin Cave is familiar destination with tourists when visiting Ta Phin village. Ta Phin Cave has a special charm for those who love discovering and immersing yourself in nature. Ta Phin Cave has 5 meters in height and 3 meters in width. Go deeply inside the Cave, tourists can see many stalactites with special and strange shapes, which are hanging down without any arrangement.

With the unique natural and cultural features, this makes Ta Phin village a facinating place to come and enjoy landscape of rice paddies, mountains, streams, hill tribe houses and unique culture.
