Xin chao! Welcome to Vietnam. Upon arrival in Hanoi, private car and tour guide will pick you up at Noi Bai International Airport with your name on board and then transfer you to hotel for check in. Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm today. You can arrive at any time during the day as there are no activities planned until this important meeting.
If you're going to be late, please inform the hotel reception or your booking agent in advance. We'll be collecting your insurance details and your information at this meeting, so please ensure you have all these details to provide to your leader.
If you arrive early into the capital of Hanoi, there’s plenty to see and do. Consider booking the Hanoi Highlights Urban Adventure with an expert local guide to introduce you to the city. Start by visiting the Temple of Literature, drop into a traditional tea house, and learn the stories of the Hoa Lo Prison museum. This tour concludes at Hoan Kiem Lake, surrounded by modern office buildings and ancient Buddhist temples. Or take it at your own pace and wander the Old Quarter and admire the city’s French-colonial architecture, relax in a park, or enjoy some street food.
We leave Hanoi in the morning and enjoy a wonderfully scenic 2-hour drive to Hoa Lu, the ancient royal capitol of Vietnam. Upon our arrival, your guide will take you to visit temples dedicated to Dinh and Le dynasty kings. Though the temples are not entirely maintained, some precious antiques are still to be found here such as the whole-stone dragon thrones and lacquered statues of the kings and other members of their royal families.
We continue our tour with a visit to Tam Coc with a twelve kilometer bicycle ride from Hoa Lu along a country lane with green paddy fields. On the outskirts of Tam Coc, we stop for lunch in a local restaurant.
From the wharf we row a sampan along the Ngo Dong river to reach the Tam Coc Grotto, which consists of the Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba caves. While drifting along you may spot mischievous monkeys and herds of goat. The river trip presents amazing photo opportunities, especially when locals come to harvest the water rice planted along the river.
Among the three caves, Hang Ca is the longest and considered the most picturesque. This grotto is adorned with beautiful sparkling stalactites and stalagmites. The second stop-over on our waterway journey, Hang Hai, lays 1 kilometer away with Hang Ba located very nearby.
Arrive back at you Hanoi accommodation at approximately 6:30 PM.
Following an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi, transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to Ha Long Bay. Sit back and relax on the approximate 3-hour journey. Upon arrival at around midday, climb aboard the traditional junk boat and enjoy a welcome drink. Then, start your cruise around the majestic karst limestone rock formations of Ha Long Bay.
Meet the crew and get acquainted with your small group while you dine on a delicious seafood lunch (including tea and coffee). After lunch, laze in the sun on the top deck, and take stunning photos of the natural wonders.
Your captain will find a secluded area that is perfect for swimming. Kayak across the crystal clear waters to see some of the limestone caves. Discover secluded lagoons, and access areas that only a kayak can reach. The modern kayaks are lightweight and easy to maneuver, and all participants will be issued with water buoyancy vests. The junk boat will be nearby at all times, serving as a back-up vessel for those who need it.
Return to the boat to relax on deck, or enjoy a refreshing drink from the bar. Next, savor a delicious dinner of fresh seafood and traditional Vietnamese cuisine. The crew will drop anchor in the heart of the bay, and after dinner you can join them on a night fishing adventure.
Pamper yourself with the luxury facilities of your cabin, including hot and cold running water, and an en-suite bathroom with power shower. In addition to the elegant dining room, the junk boat features a licensed bar, serving an extensive selection of wines.
Relax with a morning Tai Chi class on the sundeck, following the fluid movements of your instructor as you practice this ancient martial art.
Then unwind and soak up more sun on the top deck, a perfect spot for photographing the natural wonders of the bay as your light breakfast is served on the boat. From there, visit the Cave of Surprises located on Bo Hon Island, which is actually an array of linked limestone islets. Upon arrival, climb the hundred stone steps to the mouth of the cave and explore the lit paths inside on a guided walking tour. The cave is the widest grotto in Halong Bay and features multiple stalactites hanging from its high ceiling!
See more stunning sights on your return to the Halong wharf as you enjoy a buffet brunch on the junk. When you arrive back at the Tuan Chau Marina, you'll be met by a vehicle for the 3-hour journey back to Hanoi. Transfer you back to your hotel around 17:00. Flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh Hotel.
Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is a frenetic place with markets, scooter-filled streets, sidewalk food stalls, office blocks and shopping malls. It is Vietnam’s economic powerhouse with a remarkable rate of development over the last few years.
As you’ll experience on this full-day tour, Ho Chi Minh is a quick-paced, exciting and exotic city. It is now looking towards the future with great optimism after a tumultuous 20th century.
The tour begins at your hotel as you head out to visit Saigon’s historical landmarks including the 1880s General Post Office and the late 19th-century Notre Dame Cathedral, located in a tranquil part of the city.
Next visit the Reunification Palace, the headquarters of the Saigon government during the American War. Stop at the War Remnants Museum where you’ll see displays of war relics. Enjoy lunch at a local noodle soup restaurant called Presidential Pho 2000, named after former US President Bill Clinton made a surprise visit that year.
After lunch, travel from Ho Chi Minh City to the Cu Chi Tunnels. This vast network of tunnels, stretching over 150 kilometers, was built by the Viet Cong during the battles for the South. The tunnels give sobering insight into the dedication of the Viet Cong who lived almost entirely underground in the narrow and claustrophobic spaces. Watch a brief introductory video, followed by a walk through the reserve. See a chilling demonstration of the traps and weapons used against the American GIs.
The Cu Chi Tunnels have been widened and cleaned for western visitors, however it can still be dark and claustrophobic inside, so please keep this in mind if you do not like enclosed spaces.
At the site you’ll have the opportunity to shoot a range of guns, such as the AK47 and M16. Please be aware the level of noise is extremely high and although ear muffs are available, they may not provide the level of protection required.
Late in the afternoon you’ll return to Ho Chi Minh, where the tour ends.
From 7:45 am to 8:05 am, the guide and car will pick you up at your hotel in district 1, Ho Chi Minh City and depart to My Tho City. A smooth bus ride passing green rice fields will lead you to the beautiful rural My Tho City. Upon arrival in My Tho, you will take a morning boat trip on the Tien River to the Qui (Tortoise islet). On the way, view overwhelming landscapes such as the fishing port, stilt houses, boat-building workshops and the Dragon, Phoenix and Unicorn Islets.
Coming to Ben Tre Province through Bao Dinh Canal, the cruise will be more interesting when you discover "the country of coconuts" by seeing a typical agricultural model called "Garden - Pond - Cage,” and enjoying coconut candies and honey tea. Then go on an amazing rowing boat trip on a small canal, fully covered by the shadow of the water coconut trees and cool breezes creating unforgettable memories.
A lunch with traditional Vietnamese food such as elephant-ear fish and river shrimp, washed down with some cold drinks or beers will be served right in the heart of the orchard garden. The food here is well-prepared, decorated and delicious. After lunch, you will experience the wonderful atmosphere of walking through a village visiting fruit gardens and enjoying the tropical fruits with "Southern Vietnamese Folk Music" performed by the islanders. This is a great opportunity for you to join the daily activities of the local people and enjoy the peacefulness of this beautiful, natural countryside.
Your expectations and satisfactions will be fulfilled by a final boat trip back to My Tho on the Tan Thach Natural Canal. On the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, you will stop and take a rest for 15 minutes at a Bonsai garden. At 5:00pm, arrive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, you will get free time until your flight depart. Our driver will pick off you 3 hours before departure time. Tour end here.
