The best street foods in Saigon

One of the best things that tourists can do when traveling to Saigon is try all the best street foods is not just looking around and visiting the amazing historical sites. Following maybe some suggestion for all you guys if you want to know what and where to try the best dishes.

Banh Mi- Vietnam sandwiches

 



 

Banh Mi is fairly famous not just in Saigon, but also other destinations like Hoi An, Hanoi, etc. However, each province has its own flavor, for Saigon, Banh Mi usually stuffed with pork, luncheon meats, shredded cured pork skin, pâté, mayonnaise, Vietnamese radish and carrot pickles, a handful of sliced cucumbers, sprigs of coriander and chilies.

Bun Mam

 



 

Bun Man is specifically a southern Vietnamese dish. It’s made from a dark- colored broth prepared with fermented fish sauce, rice noodle, meats like squid, prawns, and pork are all scattered on top of the noodles, a slice or two of eggplant.

Bún Mắm Phan Bội Châu: 22 Phan Bội Châu, across from Ben Thanh market, Saigon- They are open for breakfast, lunch and throughout the afternoon- Price about 65,000 VND per bowl.

Che- Sweet soup

 


 

Saigon is quite popular with many types of sweet soup and made from familiar ingredients like red beans, mung beans and lotus seeds to exotic ones with tortoise jelly, almond tofu custard, and gingko nuts.

Com Tam Suon

 

 

Com Tam Suon is also one of street food that you should try when visiting Saigon. It’s the combination of broken rice, a grilled pork chop, and accompanied by fish sauce dressing, cucumber pickles, green onion oil, and chilies to garnish.

Bot Chien

 


 

Bot Chien or fried rice cake that made from mainly rice flour, eggs and tapioca starch. The cakes are sliced into bite -sized pieces, and then fried, normally on a hot skillet in lots of lard, along with some light seasonings, until crispy and golden brown on the edges. Once cooked, the rice cakes are topped with an egg and a handful of green onions before being served.
