2. Kim’s Seafood
This is a charming venue, located off the well-trodden tourist track, and operated lovingly by the wonderful Mr. Kim. Mr Kim is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike thanks to his beaming personality and warm hospitality, and as if that wasn’t enough, he cooks up some first-class food too. Vietnamese specialities including hotpot, cobia fish, prawns and grilled squid are available here with extremely reasonable price tags. If thirsty, don’t miss Kim’s fruity, fresh and delicious mango cocktails.

3. Mango Bay Restaurant
Mango Bay is another peaceful joint situated on the sand of Phu Quoc, and is the provider of the largest seafood menu on the island. Crab, mussels and prawns are popular here, and there is also a wide range of ice-cold ales available to follow the food. Check out their quaint shop filled with books and board games, top activities to enjoy whilst enjoying some seafood and stretching on the sand.

4. Gop Gio
A firm favorite with locals, Gop Gio Restaurant exudes a casual atmosphere perfect for having a laid-back dining experience. Is any visit to Phu Quoc complete without a trip to this restaurant” Arguably not, with the fried shrimp and squid, fried pork with rice, sweet and sour squid and fish hot pot being some seriously flavorful dishes that won’t leave diners disappointed.

5. Itaca Resto Lounge

Zen Seafood Restaurant is coastal establishment boasting beautiful views of the waterside. And this seafront location also brings a wealth of unusual items to the menu here; sweet snail, soft-skin crab, mantis shrimp, jellyfish and eels can all be eaten. The squid eggs steamed with ginger are a particularly rare offering, served with a fresh salad and some good wine.

7. Le Cap Breton Restaurant
Phu Quoc is a place without many French restaurants, with Le Cap Breton being one of the only ones serving truly delicious and authentic plates. Terrine on toast, beef steak cubes with onion and sweet pepper, and salad le cap breton all offer diners a taste of Paris in Phu Quoc, and if seeking something from even further afield the wines here are imported from such places as Chile, Australia and New Zealand. The spring rolls here are prepared according to a traditional Vietnamese recipe, and are delicious.

8. The Spice House at Cassia Cottage

9. Ganesh Indian Restaurant
Whilst Phu Quoc is predominantly a hub of seafood restaurants, great international cuisine is also present if you know where to look. For all the curry fans out there, Ganesh offers the best selection of spicy dishes in the region. The korma, biryani and samosas should not be missed here. A well known joint featured in many travel magazines, this is a top spot in which to taste some authentic Indian flavors whilst in South East Asia.

10. Vuon Tao
The star of this restaurant’s menu is undoubtedly the herring salad, or the goi ca trich. The fresh herring is tossed with lemon juice, chopped chillies, sliced onion, shredded coconut and vegetables, then rolled in thick rice paper and then dipped in an anchovy fish sauce and served with salad. A relaxed venue with rustic furnishings, Vuon Tao is a great choice for a light bite or quick snack between bouts of lounging in the balmy Phu Quoc sun.
